JLR Show Three Special Cars From The New Bond Flick, Spectre

JLR have announced their vehicles being used in the new James Bond Film, Spectre, during the Frankfurt Motor Show. The cars being used are the Jaguar CX75 supercar, the Range Rover SVR and a Defender, all of which have been modified by Jaguars special operations team. JLR said: “This is an exciting partnership for Jaguar Land Rover and an opportunity to demonstrate the fantastic capabilities of the Special Operations team”.

Powerful Driver, Powerful Car

There have been rumours knocking around about the Jaguar CX75 and whether or not it will make production, nothing has been confirmed just yet. The fantastic looking thing is likely being driven by Mr. Hinx (Dave Bautista), judging by the first trailer released in July. The CX75 is said to have nearly 850BHP and over 700lb-ft of torque, Aston Martin are you listening with the DB10.

Everyday Brute Force

The Range Rover SVR is merely a tuned version of the current Range Rover Sport and will likely just be an everyday grunt vehicle in the film. Despite this, JLR Special Operations decided to give the car a 550BHP 5.0 litre Supercharged V8 capable of carrying the enormous brute to 60 in 4.5 seconds.

Behold The Flying Defender

The Defender is again merely a tuned version of the standard Defender and is seen flying across the screen in an explosion in the first Spectre trailer, the Defender features uprated suspension along with 37 inches of off-road tyre along with the enhanced body protection needed to take out England’s most famous spy.

It Can’t Be Worse Than Die Another Day

We can only hope this film is better than JLR’s last journey into the James Bond Franchise. Jaguar gave Die Another Day a specially modified Jaguar XKR complete with air con, satnav, oh and a Gatling gun. That car was seen flying round a frozen lake, and two cars were lost when they broke through the ice.
