Time For The DB9’s Swan Song
When the Aston Martin DB9 first debuted at the 2003 Frankfurt Auto Show it was one of the most beautiful cars Aston had ever made, and to this day remains a gorgeous example of British design. Its subtle yet aggressive design made the DB9 more desirable than other cars in its class, cars that were arguably better overall such as the Porsche 911 and Bentley Continental GT.
The End Is Nigh
The Aston Martin DB9 has out lived many of its rivals, even its big brother the DBS bowed out before it. But finally after nearly 17 years the DB9 will finally cease production next year. But not before Aston give the old brute the send off it deserves. The GT model will be the DB9’s final swan song.
One Last Hurrah
The DB9 GT features an updated interior with SatNav and touch sensitive console switchgear to match its more modern rivals, and yet the engine remains roughly the same. That good old fashioned 6.0 V12, it has however also been updated to pump out an extra 30BHP giving it 540BHP in total.
The DB9 GT paves the way for the DB11 to be debuted at next years Geneva Motor Show. But the DB9 is still one of the best grand tourers on sale today and is still able to mix it up with its much younger rivals. For sure the DB9 will not go down without a fight.
